Der Besuch einer besonderen Freundin - the visit of a special friend
Die letzten Tage hatte ich von meiner Brieffreundin Leonie Besuch. Wir kennen uns, seit wir 9 Jahre sind, und schreiben uns seitdem. Briefe. Handgeschrieben. Die Briefe sind zwar seltener geworden, dafür aber länger.
Auf Leonie's Hochzeit durfte jeder Gast einen Gasluftballon mit einer Karte in die Luft steigen lassen. Auf der Karte sollte ein Geschenk für das Brautpaar aufgeschrieben werden. Und kam die Karte zurück, dann wurde sie zu einem Gutschein für das Geschenk. Meine Karte kam zurück. Auf ihr war eine Einladung zu mir nach Hause. Mittlerweile ist auch klar, wo das ist ;-) . Und so plante Leonie mit ihrem Mann und ihrer 11-Monate-alten Tochter einen Besuch bei mir.
During the last days, my penfriend Leonie visited me. We've known each other since we were 9 years old, and since then, we've been writing each other. Letters. Handwritten. The letters have become less frequent over the years, but longer.
At Leonie's wedding, each guest could let fly a gas balloon with a card. On the card, you were supposed to write down a gift for the bridal couple. If the card was returned, it would turn into a voucher for the gift. My card has been returned. There was an invitation to my place on it. Now, it's also clear where this is ;-) And so, Leonie planned a visit with her husband and 11-month-old daughter.
So ein wahnsinnig süßes und tagsüber gut gelauntes Baby... leider schläft sie nachts nicht so gut, daher waren die Eltern ziemlich müde. Und bei mir im Haus war das leider alles andere als besser... ich habe davon ja nichts mitbekommen und konnte die Zeit mit meinem Besuch uneingeschränkt genießen. Ich hatte auch wirklich etwas von allen.
Such an incredibly sweet and cheerful baby... she unfortunately does not sleep well at the moment, and that's why her parents were very tired. And the nights were everything but better at my place... as I did not notice the crying baby at night, I really enjoyed every part about the stay of the little family. And I have spent a good time with all of them.
Ein zusätzliches Highlight war das Schwarzwälder-Kirschtorten-Seminar, zu dem ich mit Leonie gegangen bin. Hierfür hatte ich einen Gutschein. Und es war klasse! Wirklich informativ und lustig gestaltet durch Herrn Wetzel. Absolut empfehlenswert. Zudem hatten wir eine coole Gruppe. Und zum Abschluss des Kurses durften wir ein Stück probieren. Ich mag ja eigentlich keine Sahnetorten ... und so war ich ganz überrascht, dass mir die Torte doch geschmeckt hat.
Jetzt bin ich nach der Theorie höchst motiviert, selbst eine Schwarzwälder zu backen. Die Torte kommt hier auf jedem Fest so gut an, dass ich das schon lange mal machen wollte, sodass ich meine zukünftigen Gäste verwohnen kann. Nun ist der Zeitpunkt, das mal auszuprobieren.
One highlight was the Black Forest cake course I attended with Leonie. I had a voucher for it. And it was great! Really informative and entertaining. I will recommend this. And we had a great group. At the end, everybody could try a piece of the cake. I actually don't like cream cakes ver ymuch ... so I have been really surprised that I liked this one.
And after all the theory, I am highly motivated to make one myself. The kind of cake is the hit at every party here, so I have wanted to learn how to make it for a long time in order to spoil future guests. It's time to try it out now.
Ich hoffe, dass ihr die Zeit trotz der Nächte in einigermaßen guter Erinnerung behaltet! Ich fand unsere gemütlichen Abendessen (auch das beim Italiener), den Ausflug zum Tortenseminar und das in Ruhe quatschen können richtig toll. Und die Zeit mit so einem kleinen Wonneproppen im Haus auch.
I hope, you will have some nice memories from your trip as well (despite the nights). I enjoyed our cozy dinners (the one at the Italian place as well), the tour to the cake cours and having time to chat so much. And the time with the little bundle of joy as well.
