Eine Radtour zum Baumwipfelpfad - a bicycle tour to the treetop path
Schon vor der Eröffnung habe ich mir gesagt, dass ich den ersten freien Wochentag im Sommer bei gutem Wetter nutzen würde, um eine Radtour zu machen. Im Sommer kam es nicht dazu, aber umso mehr freute ich mich, dass es in diesem Jahr überhaupt noch geklappt hat. Kalt war es gestern zwar nicht, das Wetter aber ein wenig regnerischer als angekündigt. Egal. Ich hab eine Radtour gemacht. An Zielen mangelt es mir dank Gästeinspirationen nicht. Den Baumwipfelpfad in Bad Wildbad wollte ich schon lange erkunden und er schien mir eine geeignete Destination für eine Tagestour. Bei meinen Recherchen fand ich heraus, dass Bad Wildbad von mir zuhause aus gut auf dem Schwarzwald Panorama-Radweg zu erreichen ist (ich fuhr einen Teil der 1. Etappe hin und zurück).
Before opening the Lodge, I already used to say that on the first free weekday in summer, I would go for a bike ride. A free day didn't occur in summer, but I am so happy that I was able to realize this plan this year. It hasn't even been cold yesterday, just a little rainy (unlike the forecast). It doesn't matter. I made it for at least one bike tour this year. I do have a lot of destinations in mind thanks to my guests and decided to drive to the treetop path in Bad Wildbad, a town which is easily accessible via the Schwarzwald Panorama-Radweg (I did a part of the first stage in both directions).
Ein hübscher Flecken namens Gompelscheuer. Der Nachbarort heißt Poppeltal. Bisher war ja Rüschlikön am Zürisee mein Favorit, was Ortsnamen angeht. Über solche Namen kann ich mich ja herrlich amüsieren. Aber alles nichts gegen den "Strümpfelbacher Altenberg". Das ist ein Wein. Da klingen doch "Amarone" oder "Bordeaux" tausend mal besser - und ich hätte von mir aus auch nie einen Strümpfelbacher gekauft. Aber: anders als sein Name verlauten lässt, war dieser vorzüglich. So, jetzt bin ich aber genug abgeschweift... weiter geht's mit ein paar Bildern.

Bis Bad Wildbad lief es ja wie am Schnürchen (mein Gefühl auf dem Hinweg, dass das Gelände vorwiegend leicht abfallend ist, hat sich dann auf der Rückfahrt in eine Tatsache umgewandelt). Ich hatte schon Hoffnung, dass ich ausnahmsweise mal eine Radtour ohne organisatorische Pannen und Sich-Verfahren unternehmen würde. Die Strecke von Bad Wildbad unten an der Enz zum Sommerberg, wo der Baumwpifelpfad steht, hatte es dann aber in sich. Aus SommerBERG könnte man ja im Voraus schließen, dass es den Berg hochgeht. Nicht einmal dies tat ich und verließ mich darauf, dass eine Touristenattraktion wie der Pfad angeschrieben ist. Leicht verwirrend war dann der Weg zum Fußgängerpfad angeschrieben. Dann nehme ich halt den, dachte ich mir. Worauf ich mein Rad supersteile und schmale Pfade durch den Regen nach oben schub. Und dann verlor ich auch noch die Schilder vom Fußgängerpfad aus den Augen und schob mein Rad der Nase nach weiter nach oben (sicherlich auf Umwegen). Völlig geschafft, 2 Stunden, 3 km und 300 Höhenmeter seit der Ankunft in Bad Wildpad später, kam ich am Zielort an. Aber ich wurde für die Mühen entschädigt. Die Konstruktion des Pfades ist allein architektonisch sehenswert. Und das Spazieren neben bzw. über den Baumkronen ist sehr spannend. Mal ein neuer Blickwinkel. Dazu eine tolle Aussichtsplattform:
Everything went like clockwork until Bad Wildbad (my feeling that it was rather going downhill on the way there turned out as a matter of fact on the way back). I was already hoping that once, I would manage to go on a biketour all by myself without any organisational problems or getting lost. But well, the way from Bad Wildbad down at the river Enz, to the Sommerberg ("berg" is the German word for mountain, like in Igelsberg), was very tricky. I hadn't really anticipaed that it would go steeply up (my mistake), but there was no proper road either. I found a sign for the route for walkers and chose go for that one. I had to push my bicycle on very narrow paths. And I lost that way as well... so I had to continue some way I thought would be right. For sure, I made some detours, but 2 hours since the arrival in Bad Wildbad, after 3 km and 300 meters in height, I have arrived there. And I was compensated for the struggle to get there. The construction of the path is architecturally very intresting. And walking on the height of the treetops is exciting. Such is the view:
Ich bin ja schnell wieder heimgefahren, weil ich etwas besorgt war, ich würde nicht mehr bei Tageslicht ankommen, will aber definitiv bei gutem Wetter und mit dem Auto mal wieder kommen, z.B. im Winter. Aber die bunten Bäume im Herbst haben natürlich auch was:
I didn't stay there too long because I was a little worried that I would arrive during daytime. But I want to come back, by car and when the weather is really nice, e.g. in winter. But the colorful trees are special as well:
So mancher Rennradler hätte auf den Straßen und Wegen auch seinen Spaß gehabt (ich kam mir im Vergleich zu meinem Tempo auf den Waldwegen ja selbst wie einer vor auf diesem Abschnitt):
Racing cyclists would have loved parts of the streets and ways (ich felt like on as well compared to my pace on trails in the woods):
Und es gibt ganz viele weitere Ausflugsziele und Touren, die ich im Schwarzwald erkunden möchte. Aber erst mal wieder volles Haus am Wochenende, worauf ich mich auch sehr freue.
And there are so many sights and tours I want to explore in the Black Forest. But first, I'll have a full house on the weekend and I am also excited about this.
