The first run

First run 1

First run 2

Following up on my last blog post and the magic in every beginning: I am enchanted by this magic at the moment and as a passionate runner, it’s not surprising that my first run in the new home has enchanted me even more. This experience deserves an extra blog post.

An argument often used for running is that you can do it everywhere, as you need relatively little equipment for this sports which is easily packed and unpacked. Exploring a location running is always an exciting experience, I am sure every runner will agree on this. As you can imagine, it is more than exciting for me to start exploring the region around my house. From my house, I can already see the fields and country lanes in all directions.

Since the move, I have been physically active all day long: unpacking, clearing, cleaning, renovating … and letting some air in the building. By opening all the windows in all rooms in the morning and closing them in the evening, I do a workout everyday with hight meters through the stairs ;-)

For that reason, I don’t have the energy to run as much as I used to. And this won’t change as the house will keep me busy. Nevertheless, I had to go for a first run last Friday morning at 9 o‘clock. Simply the freedom to do so on a working day let my spirits rise. But also realizing that I don’t even have to walk a few hundret meters until I am in the nature. I am living in the middle of the Black Forest! Fresh air, birds singing, endless trails and sunlight shining between the fir trees – experiencing this running without any pain ... simply great!
