Mountainbiking mit Nicole und Georg
Am Sonntag stand ein neuer Punkt auf dem Programm: Mountainbiking im Schwarzwald. Denn es kamen meine gute Freundin Nicole (die ja schon zum 3. Mal hier war) und ihr Freund Georg (ein erfahrener Mountainbiker) zu Besuch. Und die beiden wollten das Biken hier ausprobieren. Da hab ich mich eingeklinkt. Sportler zählen ja zu meinem zukünftigen Klientel und ich könnte mir auch vorstellen, meinen Gästen 1-2 Räder zur Verfügung zu stellen. Von einer sehr netten Firma hier in Freudenstadt hatte ich das Angebot, auch mal ein Mountainbike zu testen. Am letzten Wochenende kam ich darauf zurück und lieh mir ein Mountainbike aus.
Aus den neu ausgeschilderten Touren im Kreis (ein ganz tolles Projekt laut den Experten), suchten wir und die Hirschkopf-Trailtour aus. Und den Anfang von ihr fuhren wir auch.
Nächstes Jahr wird es anders herum sein, dass meine Eltern Radfahren (und ich mich um meine Gäste kümmere):
Last Sunday, a new point has been on the agenda: mountainbiking in the Black Forest. My good friend Nicole (who has already been here for the 3rd time) and her boyfriend Georg (an experienced mountainbiker) visited me. They wanted to try out biking here. And I joined them. Sportspeople are my future clientel. And I think about providing 1-2 mountainbikes to them. A very nice company here in Freudenstadt offered me to test a bike once. And this has been the occasion to do so.
Out of the newly signposted tours in the region (an amazing project according to the experts), we chose the Hirschkopf-trailtour. And we did it ... or the beginning of it.
Next year, it will hopefully be the other way around. My parents will be biking while I care about my guests:
Schick sahen Nicole und Georg ja vor allem durch ihre Trikots aus. Mit Sonnenbrillen von Rudy Project hat uns Georg, der beruflich aus der Ecke kommt, ebenfalls ausgestattet. Ich durfte auch eine testen. War überzeugend, mit professioneller Ausstattung fährt es sich gleich noch besser.
Und von meinen beiden Radmodels hab ich auch unterwegs noch einige gute Bilder für meine Webseite schießen können. Auch diese Mission ist nun erfüllt!
Nicole and Georg looked really pretty in their stylish tricots. Georg also provided us with sunglasses by Rudy Project. I coud test one as well. Professional equipment is always an extra boost for the motivation, the glasses definitely convinced me.
And further, I have been able to shoot some nics pics of my two biking models. Material for the website. So this mission had been accomplished as well.
Und gut ausgestattet ging's dann auf Tour. Zuerst ins Tal nach Klosterreichenbach, und dann wieder aufwärts...
Well equipped, we started our tour. First, we went down to Klosterreichenbach, then up again...

Dann ging's richtig los. Es wurde spannend auf den Mountainbiketrails unserer "Tour mit hohem Trailanteil". Ich hatte gedacht, Trails wären sowas wie normale, vielleicht etwas schmalere Waldwege. Dabei handelte es sich aber um so richtig schmale Wege mit Wurzeln und Steinen... Nicole und ich, wir hatten so unsere Probleme damit. Die folgenden beiden Bilder unterschlagen absichtlich die Stellen, an denen wir geschoben haben. Entsprechend langsam kamen wird voran... Also gefährlich abenteuerlich ist Mountainbiken ja schon irgendwie... aber de Reiz an der Sache kann ich auch sehr gut verstehen. Angst ist beim Downhillfahren ein schlechter Ratgeber. Wenn man sich zu fahren traut, dann macht es richtig Spaß. Und für erfahrene Biker ist das, was wir gesehen haben, ein Paradies. Coole Trails inmitten des schönen Waldes.
Then, it really started. It got exciting on our tour with "a high percentage of mountainbike trails". I thought, trails would be rather normal forest tracks, maybe a little narrower. This proved not exactly to be true. The trails turned out to be really narrow tracks with many roots and stones... Nicole and I, we had some issues with that. The following two pictures do on purpose not show a situation where we pushed our bicycles. We moved on quite slowly because of that... but I can also understand the charm of mountainbiking. If you dare to just go down and are not afraid, it is fun. And what we saw on Sunday must be paradise for experienced bikers. Cool trails... of course surrounded by the nice forest. THE forest.
Nach einer Pause in der Fischerhütte in Friedrichstal beschlossen wir, die Mountainbiketour nicht wie im Plan zuende zu fahren (genug Trails für einen Tag). Anstatt dessen radelten wir gemütlich nach Freudenstadt, um dort ein Eis zu essen, und dann auf normalen Radwegen heimzufahren. Zufrieden mit der Entscheidung und müde, aber glücklich kamen wir dann gegen Abend daheim an.
After a break in the Fischerhütte in Friedrichstal, we decided not to continue our chosen Mountainbiketour (enough trails for one day), and to return to Freudentadt to have an icecream on the market place. And then to slowly roll home on normal cycle path. We came home in the evening, convinced to have taken the right decision and tired, but happy.
Danke, dass ihr trotz Stress im Beruf die Anreise auf euch genommen habt und mich besuchen gekommen seid, Nicole und Geord. Das weiß ich zu schätzen. Und das Mountainbiken hat riesen Spaß gemacht. Und du hast als Trainer und Motivator einen guten Job gemacht, Georg!

Mountainbiken kann man im Schwarzwald wirklich toll. Normal radeln auch. Das habe ich nun ausgetestet und kann und freue mich auf Biker in meiner Lodge. Aber nicht nur das, ich bin wirklich auf den Geschmack gekommen und hoffe, dass das nicht meine letzte Tour auf dem Mountainbike war.
The Black Forest is an ideal place for mountainbiking. For normal biking as well. Now that I've tested it, I am looking forward to have bikers in my lodge. But not only that, I really got a taske of mountainbiking and hope that this has not been my last tour.
