Die Fassade oder "das Schmuckstück" - the facade or "the jewel"
Es ist soweit! Das Großprojekt "neuer Anstrich für die Fassade" ist abgeschlossen und ich kann nun auch die Bilder präsentieren. Die Farbkombination konnte man durch vorhergehende Beiträge ja schon erahnen, nun aber das Haus als Ganzes:

Das Meiste haben ja die Maler im letzten Monat gemacht, aber es war wunderschön, den Prozess mitanzusehen, wie das Haus immer schöner wurde (dass alle Fenster und Rahmen durch das Schleifen komplett eingestaubt wurden und dann für eine Weile zugehängt waren, habe ich auch überlebt). Als das Gerüst auf den ersten beiden Seiten wieder abgebaut wurde (die beiden Seiten oben auf dem Bild) und ich das Haus zum ersten Mal in den neuen Farben gesehen habe, war ich einfach nur unglaublich verzückt und glücklich und musste es eine halbe Stunde am Stück ansehen. Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ich mich so über die neue Fassade freuen würde. Ich hoffe, dass auch die Hellblau-Skeptiker nun besänftigt sind, da die Blautöne eher im gedeckt-graublauen Bereich als beim quietschigen Babyblau anzusiedeln sind.
Most of the work has been done by the painters, but it has been amazing to watch the process of the house becoming more and more beautiful (I have survived the fact that all the windows have been covered with fine dust from the grinding and then, they were covered with foil for a while). When the scaffold had been remover after painting the first two sides (the sides on the photo above), I have been full of joy and completely amazed and needed to watch it for 30 minutes. I hadn't thought that it would make me that happy. I hope that all the sceptics of the light blue are calmed now as well. As you can see, I chose some rather dim blue-grey instead of some squeaky baby blue .
Nun ein paar Vorher-Nachher-Bilder vom "Schmuckstück" (diesen Begriff hab ich mehrmals gehört und ich finde ihn absolut passend). Das folgende Vorher-Foto ist noch ein Vorzeigebild:

Hier wird deutlicher, dass der Zustand des Anstrichs vorher etwas zu wünschen übrig ließ, auch wenn die Schindeln in optimalem Zustand waren und sind. (O-Ton des Malers: "Selten so gute Schindeln gesehen...").
This before picture is more realistic, even if the shingles were and are in a great state (o-ton of the painter: "I rarely saw so good shingles, these are high-quality products...")
Es ist schon gemein: wenn eine Sache renoviert ist, sticht leider immer gleich sehr deutlich der nächste Teil ins Auge, der noch nicht gemacht ist. In diesem Fall der Eingangsbereich:

Man sieht, dass auch hinter dem Haus die Aufwertung der Fassade enorm ist. Man sieht aber auch, was es noch zu tun gibt ( Balkon, Terrasse, Bereich neben der Terrasse...)
You can see that on the other side of the house, the upgrade of the facade is enormeous. But you can also see the work ahead (balcony, terrace, area next to the terrace...)
Auch wenn für die Hauptarbeit wie gesagt eine Malerfirma beauftragt wurde, die Erneuerung eines Teils der Schalung hielt meinen Papa und mich ein Wochenende unter Zeitdruck beschäftigt, die Anbringung der Balkonbretter war auch eine große Aktion für die Helfer und was ich noch nicht erwähnte: meine Mama hatte derzeit ihr eigenes Großprojekt. Sie schliff alle Fensterläden und strich diese im Anschluss drei Mal neu an. Und das alles fast ganz allein. Pünktlich vor ihrem Urlaub wurde sie fertig, sodass die am letzten Wochenende wieder eingehängt werden konnten.
Even if the main work has been done by a professional painting company, the renewal of the boards under the gable kept my dad and me busy for a weekend (under time pressure), the mounting of the balcony boards has been an act as well for my helpers and what I have not mentioned so far: my mom had her own project during all this time: she grinded all shutters and painted them three times. And all that almost on her own. And the finished on time before leaving for a short holiday, so that the shutters could be hung up last weekend.
Never judge a book by its cover - but still, all this is a reason to be truly happy!
